On the day that Margaret Hamilton, whose software helped land Apollo 11 on the Moon, died at 90, it's worth noting why computer programming became so dominated by men.
It wasn't remotely because men were better than women at programming. It was because, as soon as men realized how important programming was, they bullied and intimidated women out of the profession. And then smiled smugly and said: "Women can't program".

Of all the cuntish things you can do as a web developer (and believe me, there are too many to count), putting your fucking cookie notice under what appears to be an “Accessibility Settings” popup has to take the cake.

Not sure if sexism or plain hubris, but this particular incident from the recently deceased #MargaretHamilton is still so prone to repeat itself in many tech environments:
She also proposed a software fix to prevent the error happening during a real mission, but she was overruled on the grounds that the highly trained astronauts were never going to make that same mistake. Yet during the Apollo 8 mission in 1968, that’s exactly what happened

Hubris is the reason why misogyny exists
It is a part of misogyny.

#MariCarmen has died due her eviction. Is not a dead, is an assassination. As well as that of Olga, Javier and all those who died or took their own lives because of rentierism.
She sparked our collective empathy, our collective anger, our collective hope, and now it is up to us, as a collective, to grieve.
She said we should keep fighting, and that’s what we’ll do

in reply to Carlos Solís • • •not really. Foremost, we are interested in automating and centralizing our package build workflow and to lower the attack surface of this process.
(it's also a prerequisite to building for other architectures with less effort)

in reply to Carlos Solís • • •I'm not sure where you get the remote attestation topic from? It's not mentioned in that mail or the related projects.
Both projects are worked on by members of the Arch Linux community to enable the central automation of packaging on the distribution and is sponsored by Valve.
What Valve does or does not do beyond that has nothing to do with those projects or Arch Linux and is your speculation (so please don't try to put words into my mouth 👍).
