Lots of wooded area there, outside a big built up city. Mixed memories for sure. The misogyny and classism of it all, ew.
In the US and especially dry areas it's a worse story. If we're talking water usage the location does matter.
I'd happily see them all gone if the land would be rewilded.

in reply to Neil Brown • • •I was talking to a little old lady once who went to the UU church in Orenco, and she lived in Hillsboro, telling me of how she used to walk down Northwest 13th, to visit her husband at the cemetary. Then the anonymous guy who owns the McKay Creek Golf Course moved in, and illegally fenced off the road, so he could build a driving range next to it. Now she has to drive to see her husband.
So uh, not sure how golf courses stealing water make it OK for AI data centers to steal water. But I say ban them both.
