@chillybot It is, but the concentration here is reasonably low, and one treatment for methanol poisoning is actually ethanol, which this… product… has a… lot… of.

The ethanol is definitely what I'm more concerned about. (As others have noted, I bet it works *fantastically* as long as you overlook the damage to delicate developing brains and livers!)

Back before cultural marxism or something destroyed victorian virtue, and we loved god and empire with our whole simple hearts, you'd just openly use laudanum for this job. Sure, there might have been the odd good-natured instance of...overexuberant efficacy...but you need soothing stuff for babies that know they'll be in the coal mines in a few years.

I apologize if I overdid it; that was not my intention. I did let the fact that the intersection between 'negligent quackery' and 'pharmacology for people who can't speak for themselves but won't stay quiet' is a pretty dark one get to me; in rereading it.
