Problem with Mastodon Custom Emoji add-on

Hello everyone, I'm currently having an issue with the Mastodon Custom Emojis add-on, namely that the generated tags are not closing properly:

Upon checking the source code of the generated span, I can notice that some of the tags weren't closed properly by the generator:

@Carlos Solís Hi Carlos, this addon is now unsupported since we added its feature to Friendica itself. Please disable it, Mastodon custom emojis should display just fine on their own for future posts.

@Hypolite Petovan Sorry for the necroposting, but it makes more sense to keep it to this thread - after I disabled the custom emoji addon, I've noticed that the aforementioned custom emojis show properly in the text of posts, but not on the user names where they render in their ":icon:" plain-text format - was this the case before or did I misremember something?

@Carlos Solís Custom emojis in display names have never been rendered. This feature has been requested but it requires substantive work compared to the rendering in posts' body: github.com/friendica/friendica…

@Hypolite Petovan Makes sense, the current system expects all user names to be stored on the database as plain text, so we either add an automatic substitution for each user name on the rendering phase, or we start saving HTML tags into the user name field of the database - either way, things can go wrong fast unless planned correctly
